Well, I’m pretty sure that I got an A+ on my Chemistry test. That’s one less thing to worry about, along with having practice out of the way. It was especially fun today! Does that mean easy? Nah… just super fun and different.

Wanna know what else is super fun? Listening to Christmas music whilst packing/cleaning for Thanksgiving break. I will be getting on the road at approx. 11:30 a.m. (in about 2 hours!!) The trip will be much nicer and faster since my friend M. is tagging along.

The rats will be going with the roomie, home, since I am traveling to the windy city to see family for a couple of days. My parents weren’t too keen on the idea of having a rat in the car for an 8 hour road trip. They think it might make things smelly. You know what my answer to that is? Dad. Gas. Eww. Besides, we’re cleaning the cage right now.

It’s my turn to hold the rats, I put them in my newly emptied trash can… hey, it works. They are so cute. They made a fort with the newspaper in their cage:

042

It’ll be tough to leave Bootsie for about a week, but I might be able to manage. You know what’s going to be difficult? Leaving my teammates. I’m going to miss them 😦 But it’s probably going to be worse over Christmas break: a whole month without my best buddies!

Well, gotta go finish up the packing. Gotta make my list and check it twice. Pick out something nice.

It’s official…

… I’m a loser. It’s Friday night and I’m blogging. Yep, you guessed it, I’m sitting in my dorm room because there’s nothing better to do. Honestly I have good reasons to want to go to bed early, like:

  • I’m exhausted
  • My roommate and suitemate are in Omaha for the weekend (for Navigators
  • I’m sore
  • I have things to do tomorrow

Now that Ya’ll know why I’m going to bed at 8:30 on a friday night in college (btw, I don’t party/drink, if that explains anything) I will continue with regularly scheduled programming

You know that you wanted to see what I eat. Well here it is. If you really want to try to figure out the calories, you just go ahead and do that, then let me know in the comments.

**I saw gym boy today!!! I was walking out of my Spanish class about 20 minutes late (talking to the prof. about the outline…) and he was “parked” outside of the building I was walking out of. It was a  nice day so he had the window rolled down in what is not his car (because I totally am a creepy stalker and know what he drives) There was eye contact. Wish there was a wave… but I think he might be in a frat and was with his frat… brothers… is that what you call them??**

10 years from now…

I don’t think I’ve mentioned before that I go to the Ag. school for the state. As in all the farmers come here. In fact we have a whole parking lot devoted to pick up trucks. Not really, it’s just the lot for off campus students that’s right next to the rodeo building.

Up until now I was fo’ sho’ going to live in a small town with a cute little house and have to drive 20 minutes to get anywhere interesting. I’ve changed my mind. I don’t want to have 4 children all (legally) named Bubba in 10 years while living in my farmhouse with the cows in the front yard and wearing a giant mumu (because Bubba #5 is on her way) and an apron.

So, to the farmer boy who was trying to make eyes at me (but was way to shy) in the dinner line- I’m not interested.

Anyways, back to the whole 10 years from now thing… There’s this board in our basement (I live in an all girls dorm btw) and I thought it was kinda funny how all of the Jonas Brothers are spoken for. I call dibs on the little one. just kidding.

Ok, I’ll show you what I wrote. You can stop asking now.

Rat update! They love each other. Ya gotta tilt your head 3 mm to the left and squint with one eye to see bootsie, but it’s worth the effort for these cuties:

Although my cold is breaking up, ie my nose is running and i have a cough, I really just don’t feel well still. I want another day in my weekend. Probably the only way that would happen is if we got 2x the ammount of rain we got yesturday and the whole campus woulld be under like 5 bajillion feet of water. Not really.

But it did rain an incredible amount yesturday. I walked through puddles that covered the tops of my feet (while wearing flip flops- cuz it was warm out). My hair was absolutley drenched almost all day. In the morning it got wet, shower=wet, walking to class it got wet. I guess I should have gotten that umbrella from my car sooner than last night, when I went out to buy gas…

Before watching She’s the Man with some girls on my floor. Thats a cute movie. You should watch it if you have the chance. I think it’s about to be added to the entrance requirements here, that you have to watch this movie if youre a girl, right along with that 21 ACT score (out of 36).

And I did sleep in this morning. Totally skipped breakfast. Actually I had a cliff Z bar (my new fav. granola bars) then went over to a friend’s house to watch The Holiday and have lunch. We ended up going to the farmers market too, where I bought some apples. I got 7 medium sized apple for $1.25. Im totally going back there next weekend for my produce fix.

Now I need a nap. I am exhausted and it’s almost dinner time. Going to go take care of some basic human needs: sleep, food, and knowledge (studying for chem!)

Why I Love…

Work! I love my job. I’ve said it before. I’d give you a link, but I can’t find one and the T-storm is rapidly approaching.

I love my work because my co-workers a super nice. Miss A brought me this today. I had made a comment earlier about how much I liked it and she said once she got a new bag she’d give this one to me. Today when I came in she handed it to me! What a sweetie. (Oh, and Dad’s modeling it for me 🙂 )

I also love work because every once and a while a good prank is pulled. I am going to explain it verbally since thats how I roll (and it means you can see my new haircut- albeit a week old).

and here’s the piece of work itself!

**Since Ron uploaded this, I feel it’s safe to share with you**

Super Fun Sunday

Have you ever had a super fun day? Well, I just had one. And even though I’m pooped, I’m still recapping the day for you- partially because I made the effort to take pictures for you. Lets begin.

The day started with a Royals game. Gotta love good deals $15 for a seat and a hot dog and a soda because it was family day. It would have been $13.50 had we found a 4th person- but none could be found 😦 It was just Amber, Elizabeth, and me (far right) having a blast watching the Royals v. Mariners

It was a close game. And we got to see all the stats we could possibly want minus some on our new score board! It was mighty fancy. Hey, I even saw a familiar name up there: Ichiro Suzuki. You know that the Mariners used to be my team- or did you know that?? I am used to live in WA- 2 hours north of seattle and then 2.5 south of seattle a bit later. Only been in KC for 3.5 years. That’s why this guy was familiar.

During the 7th inning Sheridan’s Frozen Custard said that if the Royals got a run then you could come by their shop and get a free hot fudge sundae. And whatdoyaknow- they got a run! Free ice cream for TG!!

Yep, it’s all gone. I was too distracted after I got it, when we were walking out to our car, and the garage attendent walk 200 (!!!) feet to ask me how tall I am. Boy, times like that make me glad I’ve got 2 buddies nearby. He was a creeper. And on our way home, I’m pretty sure I saw a drug deal going down. Let’s just say the Kauffman Stadium/ Arrowhead Stadium (KC Chiefs) isn’t in a good part of town. So I was relieved when I got home. Plus I got to hang out with this fabulous girl. I’m going to miss her big time when I go to school

We went to the pool and swam/lounged about for 2.5 ish hours. It was super fun catching up on everything that going on- plus we planned our next 3 weekends or so. Now I’ve got to remember it all. You’ll definitely be hearing about it- since a lot of it revolves around my 18th birthday next sunday, a week from today 🙂

There’s so much more that I want to write but I need to keep mum until tomorrow so that I’ll have something to blog about.

**Last week was like crazy hormonal and I as I stated yesturday- I didn’t want to do anything. But I am back and kickin’. This week I will be going to some morning spinning classes (yay!) and swimming. I’ve got a nasty blister on my right heel the size of a nickel that’s trying to heal- so probably no running or lifting (??).This totally upsets my training for the race for the cure that I was wanting to do on Aug. 10th… bah gotta stop writing. Ciao**

Oh my!

Oh my- that’s all I can say… lo siento para no escribiendo mas noticias ayer (Sorry for not writing [posts] yesturday) (need to keep up my spanish you know 😉 )

it has been crazy with work and hanging with friends, grocery shopping and dealing with the power going out. Let me start with yesturday:

Went to work, although I’d rather be in Italy drinking a margarita on the beach. Got home and cooked dinner. I felt like I was cooking for a boyfriend. Although I wouldn’t know what that would be like since I’ve never had one. Anyways… Cooked din din for my friend H and me. I made mac and cheese, grilled chicken,  green beans and salad. I could show you some pictures but that would be boring.

H and I watched the Darjeeling Limited. Goodness it’s cast had Owen Wilson, Adrien Brody, Bill Murray, and Natalie Portman to name a few. It was a cute movie- and it’s at RedBox- thats means 1 dolla baby, or free if you get a large soda at Mickey D’s.

I went to bed pooped and woke up and had to go back to work. Get home from work, made pizza for my friend M and me. From dinner we went to Bed Bath and Beyond and then to Target to look at college stuff. Got home and the power’s out. Lovely, no internet.

Well, that was my last two days. Hope you enjoyed reading about as much as I enjoyed living it. And does anyone have any “wierd-things” suggestions like nail clippers or fabric softener that I might forget without your help?

Back From the Gym

Have I mentioned that Thursday nights are my favorite time of the week to go to the gym? Well, I love them! Why, you ask. I shall answer your burning question:

  1. Exercise. I get one killer workout. It isn’t actually killer persay, but it is fairly intense.
  2. Instructor. D is my fav instructor. She’s just really nice and she knows her stuff. Plus she’s genuinely concerned about how my training **edited out** is going. (It’s going great btw. I’m kicking it up a notch next week though!!!)
  3. Friends. Water aerobics isn’t the most intense workout  I’ve ever done, but the people in the class make it worth my time. I haven’t seen De. in a couple of weeks- work conflicts (both her and me) and it was just fun to be able to chat with her again.

I like lists 🙂

Such a Long Day

Didn’t post yesturday because I was soo tired. I woke up at 5 to drive to *edited out**for orientation and enrollment. We got in town at 7:45 and headed over to the Union. Got there, stood in multiple lines and I soon parted ways with my mom: me to the student section, her with the parents.

In the big room we were divided by college. There was a brief presentation and then each college went to another room. After I introduced myself, I heard someone behind me ask, “Aren’t you a rower?” I turned around and saw E! I’ve only talked to her on Facebook, but I know that she’s really nice. We pretty much stayed together for the rest of the presentation stuff.

The power went out halfway through the presentation so it was cut short (you know with the tornado that hit campus 1.5 days prior). Then mom and I went to Hibachi Hut for lunch. That was yummy. We headed back to the Union and talked to *edited out*

When it came time to talk to my advisor, I explained about wanting to be a nurse practitioner, but with 3 bachelors degrees: microbiology, spanish, and nursing. He told me that I should consider being a Physician’s Assisstant. Not only will it be a shorter time in school, the pay is better than a nurse practitioner. I think I like this advisor: he knows his stuff.

EDIT: Here is a broken tree in the Union

Crush Those Dreams

I think that gym-boy may bot like me! This is terrible. I dont know that I’ll be able to sleep tonight… just kidding. Here’s the story:

Yesturday i forgot my shoes in my car after i had given gym-boy my keys in exchange for a locker. Today Becca (little sister) forgot tennis shoes so i let her have mine and needed to go get mine from my car (yes i carry 2 pairs of tennies in my car). I walked up to the counter and said, “Guess what? I need to go get tennis shoes from my car again. Can i please have my keys back” And he didn’t seem to even remember! Holy moley i gave him the “sexy eyes” as Alysa calls them yesturday- and he forgot! Maybe it was just that he doesn’t like girls that have sun burnt legs like mine- although they look pretty good 🙂
