That Tall Girl

Diez Cosas

Since I am kindasortareallyextremely bored and tired I will give you a list of 10 things you probably don’t know about me. My mom doesn’t even know all of these (hi mom!).

  1. I really like Beatles music- although I haven’t listened to all of it and can’t distinguish it easily from other groups while on the radio…
  2. I talk to myself in Spanish when I’m tired or bored, making up pretend conversations with people i know
  3. I might want to marry gym-boy… but it would help if he talked to me more. I had a “spanish conversation” with “him” after not seeing him at the gym today
  4. **edited out**

  6. I went to a private Christian school through 8th grade (actually two, because I moved before 2nd grade) and I’ve gone to 2 public high schools- because I moved again during the 1st semester of my freshman year.
  7. I love to sneeze- this one was inspired by a recent sneeze 🙂 . I used to make myself sneeze when I was younger.
  8. I have clothes that I wear from 5th grade. In fact, I’m wearing some shorts from that era right now haha.
  9. My parents made me start sports. And I was kicking and screaming all the way. I had to choose from volleyball (minimal running), basketball (quite a bit of running), and track (all running as far as I was concerned). I chose volleyball in 6th grade. Played for my schools until through halfway through my junior year season (yeah, remember that coach i mentioned in #5 ((she was truely out to get me))- I quit the team) and then during my freshman year i had my knee scoped so couldn’t play for most of that. Played club vb 8th, 9th, 10th, and 11th. Played summer vb league a couple years. Did throwing with track in 8th and 10th grade. Now after my reading my lengthy (??) sports history…
  10. Today I went 20 mi in spinning and then ran 1 mi and I’ve never felt stronger. I’m pooped now, but hey- I really accomplished something today. In fact, I’m starting to feel happy with the way my body looks. Yeah, I’m no skinny minnie, but I’m strong and healthy and beautiful (i can tell the last one by all of the boys flocking to me lately 😉 ).

Work! I love my job. I’ve said it before. I’d give you a link, but I can’t find one and the T-storm is rapidly approaching.

I love my work because my co-workers a super nice. Miss A brought me this today. I had made a comment earlier about how much I liked it and she said once she got a new bag she’d give this one to me. Today when I came in she handed it to me! What a sweetie. (Oh, and Dad’s modeling it for me 🙂 )

I also love work because every once and a while a good prank is pulled. I am going to explain it verbally since thats how I roll (and it means you can see my new haircut- albeit a week old).

and here’s the piece of work itself!

Really Better?

One of the reasons I choose to exercise is for health. Some say it can help deter aging- although I’m sure my sunbathing does the opposite. Although I want that youthful lookk for a long time to come, there are some things i just won’t do- like something that’s “better than botox” and will take 40 years, misshappen eyebrows, and a nasty scoul off my face lol:

Some ads just make me laugh- like this one, found on ebay while looking at sportswear.

Yeah, Yeah

Shark week has officially started up in herrre. Despite my voiced opinion on all things fishy -except if it’s on my plate- I LOVE LOVE LOVE Shark Week on the Discovery Channel.

What’s on right now? Mythbusters: Shark Style. That’s my kind of science- how to make sure you dont get eaten by sharks!

I totally adore all thing marine biology related. In fact, I would be a marine biologist if it didn’t mean that I’d have to get in the water! I had a hard enough time swimming in the lake with the river sharks last year.

Tune to 44 secs to see some um, bad news??? regaurding sharks.

Holy caloric intake, Batman!

8000??? Wtf. What in the world was the the calculator smoking before I entered my stats? Really, 8000 calories. If you only knew me.

When I’m relatively active I can eat about 2500 to maintain my weight. When I’m a couch potato I need about 2000 to maintain.  How in the world could I even begin to consumer 8293.99 calories per day? Eat peanut butter all day long and constantly have the runs? Well, here are some options:

  1. Go to Heart Attack Grill in Arizona and order the “quadruple bypass burger”. But that means I would eat all 8000 in one sitting!
  2. Drink weight gainer shakes
  3. Become a scientist and harvest pure ATP, eat a mole of it and, voila: 8000 in the butt bank
  4. Slurp down 9 meals consecutively and try not to throw up

Ahh, thats all I can think of for now. Not that I’ll ever have to buy a plane ticket to Arizona or get my PhD to make sure I’m eating enough. I think I’ll stick with what know for now, and leave the calculators to the gullable thinking that it’s possible to eat a whole cheescake and still lose weight.

I’m pretty sure that I have howler monkeys in my backyard. Now not only have the cicadas come out, but so have the primates! Even Annie (the dog) noticed the strange noises. Although some people might say the noises sound like birds, I’m convinced I live in a jungle similar to that of Peru! despite the fact that I live in the ‘burbs.

Maybe Anthony has had too much influence upong my life. Maybe it’s my inner self talking to me: “You want to live in a jungle. Being surrounded by howler monkeys is just what you’ve wanted since the 1st grade when you first learned about them. Jungles are cool. Go find a jungle!”

Find a “jungle” I did. Part of the reason I’ve been outside lately is to water the neighbor’s plants… which is more like a jungle. A very pretty jungle. Despite the fact that I’m now covered in chigger and mosquito bites, the first of which is mainly right along my sports bra “seams”, I look forward to going and spending time watering and hanging out in the jungleness of their backyard. Heck, they even have hibiscus flowers back there.

Well, now my week of watering the jungle is coming to a close, although those chigger bite will remain at least another weel, and I’m kinda sad that it’s going to be over. I’m especially going to miss watering the pot of herbs, which smell like spaghetti sauce when I water them. Or maybe I’m going to miss the tower of potted flowers. Even though I can’t decide what my favorite part of the jungle is, it has made me realize that I want one when I’m older. A big, pretty jungle- minus the monkeys.

TMI + Personal Stuff

TMITuesday is being revisited after a short hiatus- but is not back in full since I have something else I’d rather talk about… I think? Therefore, this post will be divided:

Just warning you, I’m going to sound like Debbie Downer- who showcases her personality below, for your information/viewing pleasure:

I talked to  my grandma today. The only living one that is. We had such a lovely conversation. Despite the fact it was 45 minutes long, time just flew by. Mainly we talked about college. As we were closing the conversation she reminded me how much she loves me a how she’s praying for me. She noted that my other grandma would have been praying for me (if she were still with us).  Tears filled my eyes for the first time in 2 months (possibly pms related).

I thought I was doing so well with the whole; dontyoudaregetdepressedbeforecollege thing. I guess not, because really, thats how I was feeling all day today.

Here’s something more interesting/less melancholly:
