What a week!

I’m certain that I don’t have good luck with computers. The one that is currently (sort of) in my care is #4 since june. Since it’s in the shop right now because the processor has broken we might as well say I’m on my 5th computer. FYI I won’ get it back into my hands for 2 more weeks. Lovely. I’m glad my term paper was eary since it was due today.

Other than computer issues my week has been fantastic. Yesturday I took a 2 hour long nap, then a 20 minute rest, then another 20 minute rest all through out the day. I also did some yoga.

Let me rant about yoga. Usually I’m not a fan of yoga. I guess I haven’t had the right instructors/mindset. Normally I can’t wait for my 60 minutes of torturous poses to be finished, but yesturday I wished it would have lasted longer. Why? Because it was almost all stretching. I can’t even begin to tell you how great I feel today. I’m limber again. I can pop my back with a simple twist. I can put on socks with out feeling like it’s some great ordeal. Yoga is amazing. I love love love it.

I love it so much that I might just have to start going to the rec a bit more. Or I might take a class, you know, so I can learn it better- like from the beginning. I think it would be fun to get to a point where I can balance like a tight rope walker and twist into crazy shapes… or just plain relieve all of the tension bound up in my hamstrings.

Speaking of classes, I have revised my class schedule for next semester:

  • Advanced Conversational Spanish
  • Spanish Composition and Grammar
  • Public Speaking
  • Human Development
  • Basic Nutrition

Needless to say, I’m super duper excited for all of these classes. My spanish classes will only get me thismuchcloser to being fluent(er). My speech class will be super fun because it will be so easy (I took speech 1 & 2 in high school). Human development- I’ve got lot’s of friends in there that talk about it. It sounds so cool, it’s like the sociology and biology of life mixed into one. And nutrition- easy peasy, interesting, and something that will definitely stay with me later in life.

Since I’ve changed topics like 56760 bajillion times I think it’s time for me to sign off, not to mention the fact that I’m in the library awaiting a call. Hasta luego amigos.

Ok, Fine.

I guess since it is Monday and all that I should probably write a post- since I know you’re all dying to hear what is going on in my life (because it is quite eventful and exciting)

As I sit here eating my brownie, thinking how glad I am that I’m able to avoid the freshman 15 and have my dessert too (due to my activity of choice) I am wondering what I am allowed to tell you- and why I have a spike in views today… maybe it’s ’cause it’s monday.

Ok, so since it’s monday- I should write something. You may be interested in knowing that my family came on saturday. It was a freakin’ busy day full of food. The schedule: Wake up, breakfast, clean the dorm room, shower, they’re here!, go to lunch with the roomie, go to a BBQ with the roomie and the like, go to the stadium parking lot, tailgate, watch the game (left at end of 3rd quarter), say goodbyes, go with the roomie, floormates, and RA to the union to see Leatherheads (with George Clooney), came home, crashed.

Yestruday (Sunday), the roomateS and I went to church, the same as last week. We decided against this one. It’s just not clicking like we had hoped. We trying a new one next week, of course. And last night we went to a fantabulous girls Bible study. I’m so glad that God has placed this girl in my life (the leader-ish of the group).

Today I went to my classes: Psych (it made me sooo sleepy!), chem (we did my least favorite thing: naming compunds), lunch (oh, guess this isn’t a class…), spanish 4 (i’m totally the youngest one in there- there are like five 21y/o’s in there! i feel like i need to prove myself-

Hmm. let’s see. any interesting pictures in my camera?? YES! On wednesday last week we painted our doorstop- aka a pretty-ized brick:

Oh, wait- is that a hint for you know what?? No, those arent giant Q-tips.

I better be wrapping this up. I have a study date at the library. No not like a Date date- like with a boy (I wish)- like an appointment kind of thing. Kinda mandatory appointment. Yay! Homework! It’s funny, having these appointments makes me put off doing my homework.

Oh, and I got a rose last night. I’d take a picture- but it’s way too much work at this point. I gotta be packing up my stuff. Last study night I didn’t bring my computer; big mistake.

PS and by the way- my shin splints are like pretty much gone. The Lord is so good to me. Really.

My First Real Trip to Kohl’s

One fish

Two fish

Red fish

Blu… backpack!

Sorry, I couldn’t help but use the fishies as a shoe in to my new backpack when I saw this shirt. (thanks mom for hiding modeling!)

Now what gangsta wouldn’t want this Tshirt?

While at Kohl’s I got my school shopping done. They had an awesome clearance section- which had just the things I was looking for: (jersey?) knit skirts. I also got some tanks to wear at practice- they were $2.80 each. I know, I’m pretty awesome at finding deals.

I also got a new laptop today- since the pink dell ain’t workin so great. You can see it next to my new baby amongst my new computer garbage:

Yeah, it’s an HP. All my friends but one got HP’s. They all like theirs. Therefore: I got a new HP instead of another silly dell computer. Haha, it was very funny: Dad said, “Now you shouldnt have problems with this one. At least I hope.” Then I thought my baby didn’t come with a charger. Called Dad and bestbuy to complain. Then I found it. Then I couldn’t find my SD card slot. Called Dad to say it didn’t have one (it’s crucial to blogging you know!) then he found it. Then I tried to put in my extended batteru, but I couldn’t get it to fit. Had Dad work on it. Finally I was right: it was the wrong battery lol. Now I gotta figure out how to get the extended battery when it’s not in the stores yet since this is such a new computer and I leave town in a week- and its currently on sale for $60 off.

Now all I’m concerned about is loading the *edited out* security thingy. I might win an iPod if I do this before school! I’m all up for free stuff and deals so if you ever feel like sending me stuff, go right ahead.

*picture edited out*

Sorry for the long post. I think that it could be mainly attributed to my outstanding humor, so your eyes shouldn’t fall out just yet. I’m off to watch more swimming/ get ready for bed. I’m tired and have a busy day ahead of me tomorrow. It will be my last saturday in town and last day of work/ saturday morning water aerobics.

Mama Mia

Here we go again… mom keeps complaining about me 😛 . Guess what she told me? She said, “I bet half my problems will leave with you.” I know she’s joking but what’s a girl to do about major personality shifts that need to be finished in 2 weeks and 2 days (the time until I move into my new dorm room)? I could give you a list, but nothing in this world could get me to change. Nah, I was just joking, mom. I got you good though, haha.

Well, I guess that I might change my attitude if it meant that Dell would listen to me. Holy smokes, I actually tugged on my hair after I handed the phone over to dad, since I had alrerady haggled with technical support for 83.1 minutes. He managed the other 21.9 minutes. That’s right folks: a total of 105 minutes talking with Sam from India, where she learned english from “the start of school”.

Want to know what I was talking about with her? She said it was all things I should have talked to Dell about 2 months ago when I got this computer. Wthell. I am u p s e t.

Ok, onto happier topics… I got asked out recently (this hasn’t happened since 10th grade when/and I got stood up). By a complete stranger. Actually, his name is Jim; I know this from leaving him an angry voicemail after he called me twice (!!!) at 1 in the morning. He called me back soon saying over and over again how sorry he was. I told him, after at least 2 minutes of him repeating himself about his sorrifulness/sorrow, that he was forgiven. He called back 40 minutes later and told me “hey, I should probably make it up to you, for waking you up and all, and take you out to dinner sometime”. I said that wasn’t necessary. Miss A from work said that he probably meant, “make out with you” instead of “make it up to you”. I think she probably would have been right (oh no!).

Did you read about the recent study linking hott people to hott voices (yes, this is related)?? Well, not only did Jim sound like he was at least 30, he sounded, well, unatractive- but maybe that was because he was asking me out, him being an obvious creepster (btw I have an attractive voice to go along with my good looks so I KNOW this study is true 😉 ).

I guess there is the fact that I’m pretty sure that I attract wierdos. They tend to follow me in Wal-Mart especially. And honk their horn at me while I’m riding my bike in the park. And hit on me while I’m with my dad. And now they ask me out despite the fact that  I’m probably 2 feet taller than them.

OK- Let’s Go!

After my wonderful workout this morning, where I ran for a total of 30 minutes (a personal best), I drove by work to pick up my paycheck and bought some gas (for a low, low price of $3.79!!) before heading home. When I got home I started packing for my weekend trip to Oklahoma!

B has yet another basketball tourney where I will be in attendence. According to the parents of other teams, we are the team to beat. I think that’s a nice place to be in.

Back to me. This hotel has a cool set up. Since they don’t have a “little gym” inside the hotel, you can go workout at the gym down the road, Body Works. We drove past it, it’s a hole in the wall of a strip mall. I’m not expecing much. I guess I should be happy for something, rather than being left empty-handed. (Although one of the main reasons I go to the gym is to see gym-boy. Who cares about meaningful conversation- nothing matters once you see those baby blues- at least I think that’s what color his eyes are)

Ugh, my “t” key doesn’t want to work. Really, I’ve been left unsatisfied by this computer. It is slow, it jumbles up things on the screen, the touch volume control hasn’t worked well at all, I hate vista, and the extended battery doesn’t last the 4.5 hours it’s supposed to. I’m pissed off and I want to go to bed. Hopefully my w/o at that “gym” will cheer me up (??).

Watching his always cheers me up (but I won’t be watching it because I want some shut eye!)

**I wish that boy at the front desk would stop trying to make eye contact with me. He’s too short for me… And I’m cranky**

Happy Fathers Day!

Today was pretty low key, except it wasn’t. After we got home from church and ate lunch Dad opened his gifts. I got him a cool wire basket for flipping fish on the grill:

Later Dad took me to Costco and to Best Buy where I got a new iPod and Nike+iPod to track my training progress on my new program to get ready to run a 5K- eventually I want to do a triathlon.

And since I haven’t posted a picture of my new laptop:

Oh and we got Dad a new toupee (it’s blue, so it doesn’t really match his hair, oh well)
