What a week!

I’m certain that I don’t have good luck with computers. The one that is currently (sort of) in my care is #4 since june. Since it’s in the shop right now because the processor has broken we might as well say I’m on my 5th computer. FYI I won’ get it back into my hands for 2 more weeks. Lovely. I’m glad my term paper was eary since it was due today.

Other than computer issues my week has been fantastic. Yesturday I took a 2 hour long nap, then a 20 minute rest, then another 20 minute rest all through out the day. I also did some yoga.

Let me rant about yoga. Usually I’m not a fan of yoga. I guess I haven’t had the right instructors/mindset. Normally I can’t wait for my 60 minutes of torturous poses to be finished, but yesturday I wished it would have lasted longer. Why? Because it was almost all stretching. I can’t even begin to tell you how great I feel today. I’m limber again. I can pop my back with a simple twist. I can put on socks with out feeling like it’s some great ordeal. Yoga is amazing. I love love love it.

I love it so much that I might just have to start going to the rec a bit more. Or I might take a class, you know, so I can learn it better- like from the beginning. I think it would be fun to get to a point where I can balance like a tight rope walker and twist into crazy shapes… or just plain relieve all of the tension bound up in my hamstrings.

Speaking of classes, I have revised my class schedule for next semester:

  • Advanced Conversational Spanish
  • Spanish Composition and Grammar
  • Public Speaking
  • Human Development
  • Basic Nutrition

Needless to say, I’m super duper excited for all of these classes. My spanish classes will only get me thismuchcloser to being fluent(er). My speech class will be super fun because it will be so easy (I took speech 1 & 2 in high school). Human development- I’ve got lot’s of friends in there that talk about it. It sounds so cool, it’s like the sociology and biology of life mixed into one. And nutrition- easy peasy, interesting, and something that will definitely stay with me later in life.

Since I’ve changed topics like 56760 bajillion times I think it’s time for me to sign off, not to mention the fact that I’m in the library awaiting a call. Hasta luego amigos.

My First Real Trip to Kohl’s

One fish

Two fish

Red fish

Blu… backpack!

Sorry, I couldn’t help but use the fishies as a shoe in to my new backpack when I saw this shirt. (thanks mom for hiding modeling!)

Now what gangsta wouldn’t want this Tshirt?

While at Kohl’s I got my school shopping done. They had an awesome clearance section- which had just the things I was looking for: (jersey?) knit skirts. I also got some tanks to wear at practice- they were $2.80 each. I know, I’m pretty awesome at finding deals.

I also got a new laptop today- since the pink dell ain’t workin so great. You can see it next to my new baby amongst my new computer garbage:

Yeah, it’s an HP. All my friends but one got HP’s. They all like theirs. Therefore: I got a new HP instead of another silly dell computer. Haha, it was very funny: Dad said, “Now you shouldnt have problems with this one. At least I hope.” Then I thought my baby didn’t come with a charger. Called Dad and bestbuy to complain. Then I found it. Then I couldn’t find my SD card slot. Called Dad to say it didn’t have one (it’s crucial to blogging you know!) then he found it. Then I tried to put in my extended batteru, but I couldn’t get it to fit. Had Dad work on it. Finally I was right: it was the wrong battery lol. Now I gotta figure out how to get the extended battery when it’s not in the stores yet since this is such a new computer and I leave town in a week- and its currently on sale for $60 off.

Now all I’m concerned about is loading the *edited out* security thingy. I might win an iPod if I do this before school! I’m all up for free stuff and deals so if you ever feel like sending me stuff, go right ahead.

*picture edited out*

Sorry for the long post. I think that it could be mainly attributed to my outstanding humor, so your eyes shouldn’t fall out just yet. I’m off to watch more swimming/ get ready for bed. I’m tired and have a busy day ahead of me tomorrow. It will be my last saturday in town and last day of work/ saturday morning water aerobics.

Diez Cosas

Since I am kindasortareallyextremely bored and tired I will give you a list of 10 things you probably don’t know about me. My mom doesn’t even know all of these (hi mom!).

  1. I really like Beatles music- although I haven’t listened to all of it and can’t distinguish it easily from other groups while on the radio…
  2. I talk to myself in Spanish when I’m tired or bored, making up pretend conversations with people i know
  3. I might want to marry gym-boy… but it would help if he talked to me more. I had a “spanish conversation” with “him” after not seeing him at the gym today
  4. **edited out**
  5. **edited out**
  6. I went to a private Christian school through 8th grade (actually two, because I moved before 2nd grade) and I’ve gone to 2 public high schools- because I moved again during the 1st semester of my freshman year.
  7. I love to sneeze- this one was inspired by a recent sneeze 🙂 . I used to make myself sneeze when I was younger.
  8. I have clothes that I wear from 5th grade. In fact, I’m wearing some shorts from that era right now haha.
  9. My parents made me start sports. And I was kicking and screaming all the way. I had to choose from volleyball (minimal running), basketball (quite a bit of running), and track (all running as far as I was concerned). I chose volleyball in 6th grade. Played for my schools until through halfway through my junior year season (yeah, remember that coach i mentioned in #5 ((she was truely out to get me))- I quit the team) and then during my freshman year i had my knee scoped so couldn’t play for most of that. Played club vb 8th, 9th, 10th, and 11th. Played summer vb league a couple years. Did throwing with track in 8th and 10th grade. Now after my reading my lengthy (??) sports history…
  10. Today I went 20 mi in spinning and then ran 1 mi and I’ve never felt stronger. I’m pooped now, but hey- I really accomplished something today. In fact, I’m starting to feel happy with the way my body looks. Yeah, I’m no skinny minnie, but I’m strong and healthy and beautiful (i can tell the last one by all of the boys flocking to me lately 😉 ).

Hey, Hey, Hey!

Except that I’m not fat albert. But I am ready for college- sorta. Despite my lack of motivation to do ANYTHING to do this week, I managed to buy bedding for my dorm room (and some other schtuff). Here’s the checklist (because you know how I like them):

  • quilt
  • electric blanket (but I got this for christmas)
  • sheets x2
  • non name brand “glad ware”
  • microwave
  • blender
  • mattress pad
  • plates, bowls, cups, silverware
  • and something else I’m sure

I’ve still got somethings to buy- like school supplies… can’t forget those. The roommates and I are in the midst of talking about how to furnish the shared areas like the bathroom. It’s going to look pretty plain 😦 but it will be easy on the wallet.

Speaking of the wallet… If the average price for gas this year is $4.50 it will cost me approx $22 per week in gas money to get to and from practice 5 times per week plus 10 miles of liesure driving- like going to Target to walk around and unwind- or buy socks, whichever I need to do at the time.

I’ll probably be posting pictures next week of the things that I have gotten- because I’m super excited about it and need at least something of interest to post.

So Itchy!

My hair is so itchy against my sunburn!!! Plus I feel like posting a picture of myself. Vain? Maybe. Self-centered? A bit. Bored? Definitely.

Going to the gym soon. I need to get out of my laziness rut. Today’s plan: go to gym: run and lift. Go home: eat lunch. Go to the pool: swim laps! Go to the dentist: have 2 baby cavities filled (I hate it when sealants fall off!) Depending on how I feel after that… I don’t know what I’ll do. Tonight I’ll try to go with B and Mom to bball practice. B’s team is fun to watch.

I have never played basketball; i didn’t like it much. Actually, I played recently in P.E. (like 2 years ago) and made a basket for the other team. Hey, no one told me that it matters what basket you throw the ball in! Maybe I should take that basketball class at *edited out*. That way I could be able to play on a rec team in the future. Ok. That’s a plan.

I may not have my whole day planned- but I sure can plan my life.

Such a Long Day

Didn’t post yesturday because I was soo tired. I woke up at 5 to drive to *edited out**for orientation and enrollment. We got in town at 7:45 and headed over to the Union. Got there, stood in multiple lines and I soon parted ways with my mom: me to the student section, her with the parents.

In the big room we were divided by college. There was a brief presentation and then each college went to another room. After I introduced myself, I heard someone behind me ask, “Aren’t you a rower?” I turned around and saw E! I’ve only talked to her on Facebook, but I know that she’s really nice. We pretty much stayed together for the rest of the presentation stuff.

The power went out halfway through the presentation so it was cut short (you know with the tornado that hit campus 1.5 days prior). Then mom and I went to Hibachi Hut for lunch. That was yummy. We headed back to the Union and talked to *edited out*

When it came time to talk to my advisor, I explained about wanting to be a nurse practitioner, but with 3 bachelors degrees: microbiology, spanish, and nursing. He told me that I should consider being a Physician’s Assisstant. Not only will it be a shorter time in school, the pay is better than a nurse practitioner. I think I like this advisor: he knows his stuff.

EDIT: Here is a broken tree in the Union
