Well, I’m pretty sure that I got an A+ on my Chemistry test. That’s one less thing to worry about, along with having practice out of the way. It was especially fun today! Does that mean easy? Nah… just super fun and different.

Wanna know what else is super fun? Listening to Christmas music whilst packing/cleaning for Thanksgiving break. I will be getting on the road at approx. 11:30 a.m. (in about 2 hours!!) The trip will be much nicer and fasterĀ since my friend M. is tagging along.

The rats will be going with the roomie, home, since I am traveling to the windy city to see family for a couple of days. My parents weren’t too keen on the idea of having a rat in the car for an 8 hour road trip. They think it might make things smelly. You know what my answer to that is? Dad. Gas. Eww. Besides, we’re cleaning the cage right now.

It’s my turn to hold the rats, I put them in my newly emptied trash can… hey, it works. They are so cute. They made a fort with the newspaper in their cage:

It’ll be tough to leave Bootsie for about a week, but I might be able to manage. You know what’s going to be difficult? Leaving my teammates. I’m going to miss them šŸ˜¦ But it’s probably going to be worse over Christmas break: a whole month without my best buddies!

Well, gotta go finish up the packing. Gotta make my list and check it twice. Pick out something nice.

Tons of Fun…

…random happenings style.

I’ve said it once, I’ll say it again. Oh baby, mama’s sore. I feel like I have the right to say this because 1. I’m sore (from exercise) and 2. I’m a mom… sorta, not really.

I have a rat. Bootsie. And the roomie’s got a rat supposedly named Flash, but it shall soon be changed to Bacon if I get my way (did I tell you that her first rat- Dr. Nibbles– died on saturday) R.I.P.Compost. Ok, back to the point. We’ve been letting the rats spend some time together. You know, get to know each other. It’s been a slow process because of some strange activity. Then there’s this:

Um, yah. We’re going to see if the Psychology, Biology, Agriculture, or College of Vet. Med. will buy the rat babies from us. Because I totally got the roommie to agree to one litter (maybe more if her rat doesn’t die in the process) If you didn’t catch all this: my rat is a boy, her rat is a girl. Rats are rodents and rodents like to have lots of rodent babies. Lots of cute rodent babies. But honestly I’m not looking forward to having a pet with junk. Can you say castration. I’m sure that could be one of the perks of having the best vets in KS

Back to why I’m sore. My shoes in Chem lab were bothering me yet again (i.e. another blister). I totally took them off and walked home (across campus) barefoot (first time attempting the barefootedness I want to embrace in public). And again, the exercise… which I cannot talk about no matter how much I twist it to make it sound like my job, even though it is my job. ok, confusing. Just look at the roomie’s shirt in the video and get the picture.

One more thing. I met with my advisor today to pick out my classes for next semester because us special students get to enroll early to make sure we’re earning enough credits toward our degree to comply with the big boss in the sky. I will be taking 16 hours comprised of:

  • Chem 2
  • Advanced Spanish Composition and Grammar šŸ™‚
  • Human Development
  • Into to Stats
  • Basic Nutrition

I’m pretty excited about all of these, except Chem 2, which is why I’m switching out of microbiology and possibly into kinesiology/exercise science with a pre-nursing/physical therapy emphasis. So soon I’ll be super knowledgable about exercise and will be able to tell you things like how you can totally do kettlebell exercises with dumbells and it’s almost the same.

10 years from now…

I don’t think I’ve mentioned before that I go to the Ag. school for the state. As in all the farmers come here. In fact we have a whole parking lot devoted to pick up trucks. Not really, it’s just the lot for off campus students that’s right next to the rodeo building.

Up until now I was fo’ sho’ going to live in a small town with a cute little house and have to drive 20 minutes to get anywhere interesting. I’ve changed my mind. I don’t want to haveĀ 4 children all (legally) named Bubba in 10 years while living in my farmhouse with the cows in the front yard and wearing a giant mumu (because Bubba #5 is on her way) and anĀ apron.

So, to the farmer boy who was trying to make eyes at me (but was way to shy) in the dinner line- I’m not interested.

Anyways, back to the whole 10 years from now thing… There’s this board in our basement (I live in an all girls dorm btw) and I thought it was kinda funny how all of the Jonas Brothers are spoken for. I call dibs on the little one. just kidding.

Ok, I’ll show you what I wrote. You can stop asking now.

Rat update! They love each other. Ya gotta tilt your head 3 mm to the left and squint with one eye to see bootsie, but it’s worth the effort for these cuties:

Camera Cleanout

Since I kinda want to get these pictures off of my camera, this post shall be crazy.

The roommate’s feet after walking 1.5 mi on “city” streets.

Here’s bootsie and nibbles meeting each other. It’s quite a story. We were like 95% sure nibbles was pregnant. She had been acting like she was nesting and bit people when they reached into her cage. Plus her belly seemed a bit big. Well, she was just in heat. It’s was quite interesting when we put them together. Nibbles was like, come on, I hope you’re a boy.

Nibbles got hungry.

Saw this on my way to class today. (it’s TMNT by the way)

Me in 1974. Thanks to yearbookyourself.com

Went to the Rec today. First time ever. Pretty fun. I worked out on the rowing machine. It had a good view of the basketball courts where there was a pick up game of shirts v. skins. The ergs (rowing machines) were in the midst of some weight lifting machines= lots of boys. It was funny, I could see them watching me in the glass (it’s reflective ya know). Eventually one of them got on another erg and promptly decided (20 sec later) that it wasn’t the exercise for him.

News on the tallness front- has to do with the above paragraph. When I stood up, you could tell some of them were shocked at how tall I was. And at dinner, someone (RIGHT next to me) was like “wow, tall people”. Am I another species??

Going home on friday. Right after class. Got a list of things to do. It’s like 2 pages long. Includes: things to bring, take, and buy.

And Tiger Balm officially smells better than Icy Hot.
