Well, I’m pretty sure that I got an A+ on my Chemistry test. That’s one less thing to worry about, along with having practice out of the way. It was especially fun today! Does that mean easy? Nah… just super fun and different.
Wanna know what else is super fun? Listening to Christmas music whilst packing/cleaning for Thanksgiving break. I will be getting on the road at approx. 11:30 a.m. (in about 2 hours!!) The trip will be much nicer and faster since my friend M. is tagging along.
The rats will be going with the roomie, home, since I am traveling to the windy city to see family for a couple of days. My parents weren’t too keen on the idea of having a rat in the car for an 8 hour road trip. They think it might make things smelly. You know what my answer to that is? Dad. Gas. Eww. Besides, we’re cleaning the cage right now.
It’s my turn to hold the rats, I put them in my newly emptied trash can… hey, it works. They are so cute. They made a fort with the newspaper in their cage:
It’ll be tough to leave Bootsie for about a week, but I might be able to manage. You know what’s going to be difficult? Leaving my teammates. I’m going to miss them
But it’s probably going to be worse over Christmas break: a whole month without my best buddies!
Well, gotta go finish up the packing. Gotta make my list and check it twice. Pick out something nice.

Nasty rain makes people do funny things, I’ve decided… like pull weeds at 7:30 in the morning, bad weather included. know, it sounds strange but I can’t really ellaborate other than saying it was fun. Yes, I just said that I had fun pulling weeds. But it is a little bit different than when your parents tell you to- so don’t expect anything fancy when I come back home, mom.
… because I went home this weekend. First trip home from college. Guess what I had for dinner my first night home: 2 lean pockets and a 2 serving blue bunny ice cream dish (which I guess was better than what I had last night when I got back: fruit/yogurt, small salad and chocolate cake). I probably shouldn’t complain about the food though since mom did my laundry, bought me clothes (holy smokes i found jeans at wal mart that were long enough and were somewhat proportionate to my huge thighs), bought me random items, cleaned my car (vacuum, rainX, windows), put new windshield wipers on my car, and filled my gas tank (gas was $2.99 !!!)
It was my first big drive by myself, and I didn’t die. The way home was easy-peasy. I hit rush hour traffic in Topeka, KS but I let people pass me and realize that there were cars going just as slow in front of me so it was all good. I payed the tolls just fine too. But the way back. Dang, son. Let’s just start off with saying one of the reasons I got new windshield wipers and rainX was because of the storm that was between me and the university. There were points at which I was going 50 in a 70 zone because visibility/ traffic was that bad. Add to that the semis that were following way too close and changing langes/making walls across the 3 lane interstate sporatically.
I should probably add that I went to my gym twice. Once on Friday, and again on Saturday morning. On friday they didn’t make me exchange my keys for a locker because they know me/ my keys were attatched to my wallet. There was a new guy there (probably to replace gym boy) and he was freaking out when Jason told me I didn’t have to turn my keys in. He was all like “who is she that she doesn’t have to turn her keys in?!” and I’m all like “I’m important around here. Didn’t you get the memo??” not really. But those thoughts were totally flying around the room. And one last thing (because this is getting long) at water aerobics I was the life of the party; ‘cuz I’m cool like that.
Now it’s time for my mid-morning nap.

This is Bootsie. She is my new baby. But she’s actually a rat.
Ok… let me back up a bit here. You’re probably wondering whats going on. This weekend I went home with my roomate. One of the things we decided on was to buy rats while we were in town (her town is actually a metropolis of 50k, but still larger than our little college town).
Anyways, on saturday we made our 1st trip to PetCo. Rats, cage, food, etc: check. Come home. My baby is sluggish and coughing up blood. Trip to PetCo #2: told to go to the vet (free of charge- but we soon find out they’re closed). 3rd visit to PetCo: get meds for the baby rat.
Then we go see the Producers at the community theater: it was super cute. A bit more sexual than I was expecting, but then again it’s a Gene Wilder thing.
Sunday we go to church, then PetCo and get a bigger cage (for the 2 of them, once mine is healthy) Did I mention we got 2?? Here is B’s: Dr. Nibbles (she bites. and the name sounds, um different, is you say it 5x fast)
And here’s us coming home:
Ok. So now they’re all moved in an everything. I look at my wall o’ stuff and see this. I guess i’m running a 5k next sunday? Probably should have started running again sooner than today. Probably should go work on that.
And I thought I’d add that my mom is just loving the idea of having a rodent in her house come Christmas and Summer. Oh and mom, what if I go on a trip while bootsie’s still around? Will you take care of/ hold her for me?

Today I caved in and decided to drive to Branson, MO to see B play. So dad and I started on our drive a bit before dinner. But there’s something that you need to know…
I had baaaaad gas all afternoon. It started shortly after I left the gym- good thing too since gym-boy decided to start a conversation with me while we were lifting weights today (I skipped my run to lift while he was up there… I know, that’s bad). It was the kind where you feel like you have to lean to one side so it can escape properly (I said TMI Tuesday for a reason). It was explosion after explosion and it didn’t let up when I got in the car with dad.
I guess you could say it’s a good thing that I had gas. I mean you can’t have a road trip without a gaseous passenger. Since dad didn’t especially care for the smell he made me open the window each time I had to let one. Which is fine, he does that frequently on our road trips… but I never knew the reason why before this trip.
You see, the car smelled like “road trip”. The only thing I can pin down that aroma to is my gas. I guess I could add that the minivan constantly smells of road trip. What does that mean mom??
